Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain has paid rich tributes to former prime minister and chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto on her fifth death anniversary.

 

In a press release issued on Thursday, he said that the late Benazir struggled for the revival of democracy in the country and for its continuation. Ultimately, she laid down her life for the sake of democracy.

 

He hailed her as the martyr of democracy and said that her services and sacrifices for democracy would always be remembered. He prayed to Almighty Allah to accept the sacrifices given by Benazir and give her an exalted place in heaven.

 

He sympathised with President Asif Ali Zardari, his children, leaders and workers of the PPP on the fifth death anniversary of the martyred leader.

 

Fateha for Benazir

 

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) arranged Quran Khawani and Fateha in Gulistan-e-Johar and Pehelwan Goth here on Thursday for slain former prime minister Benazir Bhutto on her fifth death anniversary.

 

The Quran khawani and Fateha were arranged at the residences of PPP leaders Noor Muhammad and Saleemuddin Ansari.

 

Later, addressing the gathering, the PPP leaders paid a glowing tribute to Benazir Bhutto. The PPP leaders and workers also reposed full confidence in the party leadership.

 

Meanwhile, the Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto also arranged Fateha at 70 Clifton for the late PPP leader.

 

PPP-SB leader Ghinwa Bhutto and party activists and supporters prayed for the assassinated PPP leader.
