In the second incident of vigilante justice in as many days, an alleged robber was beaten to death by a mob for robbing vehicles on Mauripur Road.


Kalri police said two motorcyclists were looting cash and valuables from motorists near Katchi Para when some people saw them and decided to challenge them. On seeing the people marching towards them, the suspects tried to escape, but a member of the public opened fire on them, injuring one of them.


The captured robber was then beaten black and blue and he later succumbed to his injuries. His accomplice managed to escape from the scene though.The body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for a post-mortem. Police found a TT pistol and some valuables on him.


On Sunday, an angry mob chased down a man suspected of attempted murder, and killed him in the SITE-A area.
