Mobina Town police on Wednesday arrested a “mentally unstable” man, a day after he allegedly committed an act of blasphemy.

According to police, Robin Estanten Brian, 25, lives in a house in Sui Gas Housing Society opposite the Safari Park with his mother Robina Brian, an employee of the Sui Southern Gas Company. They said his mental condition was not stable.

Muhammad Khursheed Alam lodged an FIR against Robin, accusing him of sending some text messages to several people on Tuesday against the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

On Wednesday, residents of Sui Gas Housing Society forcibly entered his house, took out furniture and torched it. Soon afterwards, a police mobile van arrived at the scene and arrested the accused.
