The Coordination Committee of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has expressed its deep sense of grief and sorrow over the deaths of several persons in an explosion in a firecracker godown in the densely populated area of Hussain Agahi Chowk in Multan.

It said that the presence of a firecracker godown in the densely populated area was criminal negligence on the part of the local administration. It was because of the dereliction of duty of the administration that innocent people died and got injured in the explosion.

It urged Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take action against the elements involved in illegal manufacturing of firecrackers in the area.
