A suspected bandit was killed and his accomplice and a policeman suffered injuries during an encounter near the Awami Markaz on Sharea Faisal in the Bahadurabad police limits

 

Police said two armed men had barged onto a coach and were looting valuables when a passer-by witnessed the robbery and informed a police mobile unit.

 

When the cops intercepted the vehicle, the robbers opened fire and injured Constable Muhammad Azad. The police fired back and injured two of the bandits.

 

The cops involved in the encounter were from the Mauripur police and had been on their way to the Mehmoodabad area for a raid when they were stopped by the witness.

 

The injured bandits were taken to the Bahadurabad police station, in his whose jurisdiction that shootout took place.

 

The suspects were identified as 27-year-old Ainnuddin and 24-year-old Akhtar Ali.

 

Bahadurabad police were taking the injured to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre when Ainnuddin breathed his last.
