Four women police commandos were among 229 Eaglets and 394 Elite personnel who passed out the 14th Eaglet Course and 27th Elite Police Course on Friday at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Centre, Razaqabad Karachi. They have been imparted anti-terrorism training.
The police personnel are being trained at this school to combat terrorism, kidnapping for ransom, robberies, hijacking and other heinous crimes. As many as 26,800 officers and personnel have been trained at this school since 1990.
Speaking at the passing-out parade ceremony, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Mushtaque Ahmed Shah said that the approval had been granted for establishing modern in-door firing ranges for training of police and expressed satisfaction on night firing training to the police commandos.
He said that the Anti-terrorism Training Institute was being established where the commandos would be given 10-month training. The syllabus would also include computer literacy and human rights.
The IGP also announced residential project for the officers and personnel of Elite Police Training Centre, provision of gas to the family quarters and other facilities. He said that the children of police personnel would be given facilities of higher education and scholarships besides insurance cover to all officers and personnel.
Additional IG Sindh Falak Khursheed, Additional IG Karachi Akhtar Gorchani and other high ranking officers were present.
