Hasan Raza, a worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s North Karachi Sector (Unit 133-A) and party sympathisers Atif Usmani and Ijteba Khan, whose tortured bodies were found the other day, were buried at the North Karachi’s Shah Muhammad graveyard amidst moving scenes on Tuesday.
Members MQM Coordination Committee Waseem Aftab, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Wasay Jalil, besides party ministers, MNAs, MPAs, office-bearers and members of North Karachi Sector and units and thousands of workers and sympathisers attended the funeral.
The party leaders sympathised with the grief-stricken family members and urged them to show restraint. They also prayed the Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.
Funeral prayers of Hassan Raza were led by prominent religious scholar Maulana Syed Mohammad Abbas Jaffery while that of Atif Usmani and Muhammadf Ijtaba were led by renowned religious scholar Maulana Hafiz Abrar-ul-Haq.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain expressed his deep grief and sorrow on the killing of Hassan Raza and two other party sympathisers Atif Usmani and Ijtaba Khan. He condoled with the bereaved families and said that the MQM shared their grief equally. He also prayed for the divine forgiveness of the departed souls.
