Four minor brothers were killed on Tuesday when the wall of their house collapsed onto them in the Gilgit Colony area of Korangi No 1½.

Seven-year-old Adeel, five-year-old Siraj, four-year-old Saud and two-year-old Shahabuddin were playing in the veranda of their house when the tragedy occurred.

Their parents and neighbours pulled the children out of the debris and took them to the Sindh Government Hospital Korangi, where they breathed their last.

Their fifth brother was also playing with them at the time of the collapse, but he remained unhurt.

Korangi Sub-Divisional Police Officer Qasim Ghori told The News that the signboard of a Madrassa fell on the wall, causing the weak structure to collapse.

After completing the medico-legal formalities, the police handed over the bodies to the parents.

The police officer said the father of the children, Sher Muhammad, worked at a marriage hall near Korangi Crossing.

He further said Sher Muhammad hailed from the Shikarpur district and the bodies of the four children were sent to their native town for burial.

Separately, 20-year-old Moazzim was killed when he accidentally fell from a tree while cutting its branches near Hussaini Chowrangi in the Quaidabad area.
