PPP, PUC to convene Jirga against terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Senior PPP leader Rehman Malik and Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) led by Allama Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi on Wednesday agreed to convene a religious Jirga against terrorism and extremism.
The agreement reached between the two during the meeting of delegation of Pakistan Ulema Council led by Allama Hafiz Ashrafi with Rehman Malik on Wednesday in which the country’s current political and security situation and role of Ulema against terrorism was discussed in detail.
Pakistan Ulema Council highly commended the reconciliatory role of Rehman Malik in defusing the impasse between PTI and PML-N through the forum of Opposition Jirga.Rehman Malik said that no religion endorses terrorism but handful miscreants exist everywhere who are trying to bring a bad name to our faith, religion and society.
