KARACHI: Internet services across the country have been restored as the fault in the international submarine cable system has been rectified, said an official at the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) on Wednesday.
Imran Janjua, General Manager at PTCL told The News IMEWE (India-Middle East -Western Europe) cable fault, which occurred near Marseilles France, has been removed. The fault affected internet and broadband services in entire Middle East, Saudi Arabia region and Pakistan and India.
An international bandwidth on one of the consortium submarine cable system landing in Pakistan namely IMEWE became unavailable due to suspected fault in France (Marseilles) on October 9 (Friday).
Janjua said PTCL had made necessary alternate arrangement through its resources to acquire required bandwidth for its customers in order to minimise the impact of the submarine cable fault and subsequent service outage.
