Forex reserves rise to $16.13 billion

KARACHI: Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves increased to $16.136 billion during the week ended February 27, 2015 as compared to $15.943 billion a week ago, the central bank reported on Thursday.
The forex reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed an increase of $132 million to $11.207 billion against $11.075 billion in the previous week.
The rise in the forex reserves of the State Bank is attributed to disbursement of $51 million from the International Development Association (IDA).
The foreign exchange reserves of commercial banks stood at $4.929 billion against $4.868 billion a week ago.
