Shahbaz to be brought back forcibly if doesn’t return: Fawad
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said on Monday that if opposition leader in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif would not return to the country, he would be brought back forcibly.
Talking to the media at the Lahore High Court here, he claimed that PML-N leader might not return to the country on his own; however, the government would bring him back. The minister claimed that he (Shahbaz) went abroad after making humble requests and his movements suggested that he might not return now. “But we will bring him back,” he added.
Fawad Chaudhry visited the court to attend proceedings of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Abdul Aleem Khan’s bail petition in a NAB case. He said he came to express solidarity with his party colleague.
The minister said people wanted to see smooth accountability process and merit-based decisions by the courts of law. He said the justice system needed reforms. He said Aleem Khan would definitely get justice in his case and would soon be acquitted of the charges.
He said the IMF statement made it clear that the PTI government was forced to obtain loan package due to wrong policies of the previous governments. He said the government was fully aware of the sufferings of the people. “It will definitely take some time to clear the trash of predecessors,” added Chaudhry.
APP adds: Minister Fawad Chaudhry said the government was well aware of people’s miseries inflicted on them by inflation, and it was taking all steps to steer the country out of these crises.
