KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that the field offices of the SBP-Banking Services Corporation (BSC) and the branches of banks will remain open on March 30, Saturday and March 31, Sunday to collect taxes.

 

According to a circular issued by the State Bank on Friday, the National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) will provide special clearing facility after 3pm on Sunday in order to ensure that all receipts collected on March 31 are credited to government accounts on the same date.

 

The circular also said that in order to facilitate collection of taxes, the banks have been advised to open such branches and other offices on March 31 till such time that is necessary to facilitate special clearing by NIFT to be held after 3pm.
