KARACHI: The Sindh government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with WIKOV Wind, a Czech Republic company for the power generation of 50MW at the wind corridor in Gharo-Jhimpir district, Thatta, according to a statement on Thursday.

 

The MoU was signed by Muhammad Riazuddin, director general of the Sindh Board of Investment (SBoI) and Czech Republic company head Martin Wichterle in the presence of chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, minister for finance Syed Murad Ali Shah and minister for information Sharjeel Memon and others, it said.

 

A high-level investment delegation from Czech Republic also witnessed the ceremony.

 

The Sindh chief minister said that with the grace of Almighty Allah the province is blessed with natural resources such as wind and coal, which cannot only fulfill the energy requirements of the province but also the entire country.
