ISLAMABAD: Prominent political figure, social worker and industrialist Begum Kulsoom Saifullah has apologised to Humayun Akhtar Khan and his family for the objectionable writings published mistakenly in her book ‘My Solo Flight’ (Mare Tanha Pervaz) regarding his father General Akhtar Abdur Rehman.


In a press release on Friday, she said, “Due to my weak eyesight and hearing problem the book has been written, edited and proof read by other people which is not my opinion and I myself was surprised when I got to know about the writings published in my book.”


Begum Kulsoom said that she has removed all objectionable writings regarding General Akhtar Abdur Rehman and others and ordered to inquire the matter that who was behind it. She said that she has great regard for Shaheed General Akhtar Abdur Rehman and his family, and the role he played for Pakistan, is significant.


She said Akhtar Abdur Rehman’s family is amongst important industrialist families of Pakistan and playing valuable role in its development which no one can deny. She said: “Both of our families enjoy good cordial relations and Humayun Akhter Khan and his brothers are like my sons Huumayun Saifullah Khan and Salim Saifulllah Khan.”
