Kh Asif accused of damaging PML-N in Sialkot
From Our Correspondent
SIALKOT: Sialkot has been a stronghold for PML-N for the last 30 years, but unluckily it has been hijacked by some selfish and power-hungry politicians, said former Punjab Minister Sheikh Ijaz Ahmad.
He was addressing a rally here on Sunday night. He said it was the prime duty of PML-N true and loyal workers to rescue the party from the grip of such elements. Workers are the real strength of the party and no party or political leader could survive after overlooking the party workers, he said and termed himself a true PML-N worker for whom the party workers showed their love and trust in elections for five times. He said the political leaders who used to hurt the feelings of the party workers could be termed useless people. He criticised MNA Khawaja Muhammad Asif and alleged that his policies were causing serious damage to the party in Sialkot. He said such leaders had no vote bank and they exploited the vote bank of the party for their interests. He said Kh Asif won the election due to strong PML-N vote bank, but now he was saying his achievements were due to his own influence. He said Kh Asif had learned nothing from Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif. He said mere claims were not enough to become a central leader of the party, but the sense of responsibilities and love to serve the masses were essential. Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed said Sialkot PML-N workers from NA 110 would not be left helpless. Former deputy mayor Auranzeb Shahjee, Hafiz Manzoor Ahemd, Shazia Sethi, Sheikh Gulriaz and others were also present.
