Army troops start arriving for LG polls

JHANG: Following the requisition of the district government, Pakistan Army troops and Rangers will start arriving in the district today (Tuesday) to ensure law and orders situation during the local government elections scheduled on December 5.
The commanders of the Pak Army and Rangers will attend the briefing of the district administration and police regarding polling and security arrangements. According to sources, 3,885 constables, 713 head constables, 517 ASIs and SIs, 58 inspectors, 26 DSPs, 4 SPs, 1,551 policemen of reserve police, 3,719 cops of special force would be deployed in and outside 1,084 polling stations to ensure foolproof security to polling staff and voters on the polling day. More than 60 police gunmen will also provide personal security to DRO, ROs and officers of the district administration holding the elections.
