Ayyan fails to get her passport back

RAWALPINDI: Money-laundering accused Ayyan Ali once again could not get her passport back, as Special Customs Court, Rawalpindi, Judge Rana Aftab Ahmed on Monday directed the fashion model to correct the mistakes in her written personal statement submitted with the court.
Earlier on Saturday Ayyan appeared before a banking court to submit surety bonds and a personal guarantee but was told to submit the documents with the Customs court. Customs Judge Rana Aftan Ahmed Khan was on leave that day, so the accused appeared before him Monday to submit surety bonds.
She assured the court in her personal guarantee that she would appear before the court at every hearing. But the court did not accept her personal statement as it contained mistakes.Sources said after getting her passport, the accused model will request the Interior Ministry and the high court to get her name off the Exit Control List.Ayyan was arrested by Customs officials from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, on March 14 after 506,800 dollars were recovered from her luggage.
