KARACHI: Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chaudhry Sarwar said that the PTI would accept whatever the results were if the elections were held in a transparent manner and claimed that the PTI would be the winner.
He said that the result of the election would be accepted if the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) did not repeat the irregularities it had been committing. He said the PTI hailed the ECP decision to deploy army for the election.
Chaudhry Sarwar indicated that the by-election was not between two political parties but the PTI was contesting against the federal and Punjab governments.
He alleged that every department of the government, in addition to police and administration, was taking part in the election campaign. He alleged that senior officials of the Railways were making commitments with the voters residing in the Railway Colony.
Analysing Bilal Asif’s bowling action issue, Shahzeb Khanzada said it was just the entry of Bilal Asif in the international cricket and his bowling action was being questioned. The ICC declared suspicious the bowling action of a third Pakistani spinner in one year. It was to be seen whether the ICC was conspiring against Pakistani bowlers or it was negligence of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The bowling actions of many bowlers playing domestic cricket had been declared suspicious, Shahzeb Khanzada noted, adding that the PBC was no more making serious efforts for correcting the bowling action.
The privatisation policy of the Pakistan Muslim League-N is appearing to have failed, analysed Shahzeb Khanzada.
The Prime Minister’s promises and the performance of Chairman Privatisation Commission are being questioned. He said the Nawaz government escaped a very huge scandal of Rs33 billion in privatisation of Pakistan Steel Mills but the matter was handled by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. Some very important affairs became known regarding the Steel Mills and Heavy Mechanical Complex.
The privatisation deal of Heavy Mechanical Complex had to be cancelled after the cheque of the first buyer bounced, and now certain other matters relating to privatisation of Steel Mill were coming up.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar expressed displeasure in the meeting of Cabinet Committee for Privatisation over hiding from balance sheet of the Steel Mills such taxes which were returned to the company later.
Shahzeb Khanzadaa also took up the by-election in a Lahore constituency of the National Assembly. He pointed out that the PTI will have to agree to whatever is the outcome of the election, as the ECP fulfilled its each demand. It was also noted in the analysis that the PTI would have to respond to very serious questions being raised on financial affairs of the party.
On information that certain criminals were being given treatment in different private hospitals, Counter-terrorism Department (CTD) raided Zubeda Hospital in Bahadurabad, said Senior Superintendent of Police. The raid led to the arrest of two injured terrorists, who disclosed they were injured in attacks on Kandahar and Kunduz in Afghanistan.
These two Afghan terrorists had also remained under treatment earlier in different government and private hospitals.
