VEHARI: Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said the Punjab government will not allow any private school to increase its fee structure till 2016.
He said this while addressing a press conference here on Sunday. The minister said price control committees would monitor fee matters of private schools. He said millions of rupees were being spent on provision of facilities at the government schools. He said 2,400 sweepers would be recruited soon to fill vacant posts of sweepers at the government school in Punjab. Rana Mashhood said 40,000 teachers were being appointed every year to provide best educational facilities to the students at the government schools.
He dispelled corruption charges levelled against him. To a question, he said he had not received any notice from the NAB, adding that his opponents were propagating against him in this matter. “I would quit politics if corruption charges proved against me”, he added.
He said he had sent a legal notice to the NAB against rumours that an inquiry had started against him. He claimed the PML–N would win by-elections in Lahore. Rana Mashhood said the PML-N had kept Vehari district open for all the PML-N workers that was the reason that no party ticket was awarded to any candidate.
The PML-N government would overcome all crises with the help and support of the masses, he added.
