BEIJING: A 75-member contingent of Pakistani armed forces troops will participate in the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II commemoration military parade to be held on September 3 at the Tiananmen Square in Beijing.
Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Tayyab, who is leading the contingent, at the military parade base in Beijing, said Monday that since last two weeks they have participated in basic training, individual training and collective training along with the troops of other countries.
The troops while rehearsing their parade for the commemoration event have performed well and have exhibited up to the professional expectations, he said, says a press release.
He said that in the selection of the troops their excellent professional skills, performance in their respective units and physique particularly height of 6 feet have been taken into account.
On September 3, the Pakistani armed forces contingent will participate with five flags including the Pakistan’s national flag, the emblems of the Army, the Air force and the Navy. It is believed that about 1,000 troops from 17 countries will take part in the military parade.
