ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) in a crash course arranged at its headquarters has imparted training to its officers on the enforcement and monitoring staff on the newly issued code of conduct for electronic media 2015.
The training is aimed at ensuring effective implementation of the code of ethics, said a press release issued here.
Pemra Legal Head Zahid Nadeem Malik and Secretary to the authority Nasir Ayub briefed the participants about the clauses of the new code and made comparative analysis with the previous one.
The new code of conduct notified by the government on August 19, 2015 on the directives of the Supreme Court has already forwarded by the authority to all its licensees including Satellite TV, FM Radio and Cable TV operators for its immediate compliance and implementation.
In the concluding session, Pemra acting Chairman Kamal Uddin Tipu urged the participants to ensure the implementation of the new code of conduct on all electronic media in letter and spirit.
