PESHAWAR: Nayab Bibi, a special student from Swabi district, who had recently won the bronze medal at the Special Olympics in the United States, Wednesday announced to dedicate her prize to the martyrs of Army Public School (APS).
“I gift my medal to the parents of the martyrs on the eve of the Independence Day,” she said, while addressing a news conference here. She said it was a great honour for her to represent Pakistan in the Special Olympic games held in the US in July last. She won bronze medal in the 200 meter race of special children.
Nayab, who is a grad-III student, said that winning a medal at the mega event was great achievement for her. She added that she dedicate her achievement to the martyrs of the APS, who laid down their lives for the country.
The Special Olympian paid glowing tributes to the martyred students of the APS. She said that though they were no more in this world, their sacrifices would be remembered for ever. “By dedicating my award to the martyrs, I wanted to give a special gift to their parents on the Independence Day,” she added.
