LAHORE: A two-day International Literary Conference on ‘Thematic Similarities between Pakistani and Chinese literature ‘ and a grand Mushaira culminated with the appreciation for the Chinese literature and a consensus on further promoting the brotherly ties between the two countries through exchanges in the Pak-China literary world.
The International Literary Conference and Mushaira was organised by the Academy of Letters in collaboration with the Ministry of Broadcasting and Information and National Heritage held in connection with the ‘Pak-China Friendship’ as the Government of Pakistan had decided to dedicate the year 2015 to the friendship of the two longstanding friends. On the second and final day, Chinese and Pakistani writers presented their papers in various academic sessions of the conference. The first literary session of the second day of this international conference was presided over by world renowned Pakistani writer Intizar Hussain. The second literary session was presided over by Chairman Academy of Letters Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bhogio while the 3rd literary session was presided over by Dr. Syed Qasim Raza Siddique Peerzada.
Chairman Academy of Letters Dr. Muhammad Qasim Bhogio presented the literary report at the concluded and the last session of the two-day international conference. Director General Academy of Letters Zahida Parveen presented the note of thanks. A Mushaira (Poetry Recitation) was held at the end of the conference which was presided over by Zafer Iqbal and conducted by Dr. Sughra Sadaf.
