LAHORE: The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) has revised the courses of three-year DAE in food and civil technologies.
Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Shaikh, addressing a meeting of the Academic Department to review the progress to revise the existing curricula, said that full attention was being paid to revise the existing curricula as per international market standards and meeting requirements of the industry.
Irfan Qaiser Shaikh added that new subjects such as Food Microbiology in first year, Food Plant Layout and Hygiene, Confectionery Technology and Food Laws and Standards in second year while Hospitality Management, Food Safety and Quality assurance and Nutrition and Dietetics subjects in third year had been included in the three-year DAE Food Technology course.
Similarly, new subjects such as Advanced Construction Techniques, Advanced Surveying and Entrepreneurship in the second year while Hydraulics and Irrigation Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Soil Mechanics and Bridge Engineering subjects in the third year had been incorporated in three-year DAE Civil Technology course. The new curricula of both technologies will be started from the forthcoming academic session.
The chairperson Tevta further said the purpose to revise the existing courses was to train the youth as per the latest requirements of the industry so that they might be employed easily after the successful completion of their study period.
