LAHORE: Afghan Ambassador in Pakistan Janan Mosazai called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here Friday. Matters of mutual interest, promotion of Pak-Afghan relations and situation in the region were discussed in the meeting.
Talking to the Afghan Ambassador, the chief minister said due to the visits of leadership of the two countries, a new era of Pak-Afghan relations had started. He said there was a need for promotion of cooperation in different sectors between the two countries and there should be maximum contacts between business communities of the two countries.
He said admission quota for Afghan nationals in educational institutions of Punjab would be increased. He said Pakistan is a peaceful country and wants peace in the region. He said terrorism was the common enemy of the two countries and this menace should be eliminated.
Afghan Ambassador Janan Mosazai said Afghanistan wanted to strengthen its relations with Pakistan especially Punjab. He thanked Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for increasing the admission quota for Afghan nationals in educational institutions of Punjab. The Afghan envoy invited Shahbaz Sharif to visit Kabul.
