ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that contention of establishment pertaining to the resolution of Karachi imbroglio would ultimately prevail upon as the situation was heading towards showdown in the metropolis.
He said that anti-Pakistan forces were taking advantage of heavy engagement of the armed forces in different parts of the country. Talking to a group of newsmen in Parliament House Friday he said that Karachi should be saved from street fighting since country could not afford to have displaced people from Karachi any further. The Maulana said that seminaries would continue to function in normal way in the country as nobody should think in the terms of putting restriction on them.
“We would never permit anyone to act against the seminaries which have been rendering matchless services for dissemination of message of Islam. The government should exercise restrain in patronising non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which are out to tarnish the image of country and defaming Islam,” he said.
He cited a dozen of major incidents of terrorism in the country in recent years and explained that in none of the incident any seminary or its student was found involved. A malicious organised campaign had been launched by the enemies of the Muslim against Islam and the NGOs were working as a tool in their hands.
