Body wants road repaired

CHITRAL: The Tanzeem Tahaffuz Huqooq-e-Awam held a protest rally to demand repair and maintenance of the Chitral-Mastuj road.
The protesters took out a rally from the Chew Bridge which after reaching the old PIA Chowk turned into a big public gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Wali Khan, Sharif Hussain and other leaders regretted that for the last about 20 years not a single penny had been spent on the maintenance of the busy road but every year the officials of the communication and works (C&W) department and their political backers and contractors pocketed millions of rupees in the name of repairing the road.
They warned that if repair work on the road was not initiated by June 5, they would lock the offices of the C&W department.
