Three killed in different incidents

PAKPATTAN: Three people, including a woman, were killed in different incidents here on Tuesday.
In the first incident, Zafar Iqbal of Chak 13/SP, a veterinary paramedic, was shot dead by accused Muhammad Ajmal and his accomplices over sending a marriage proposal to the daughter of Allah Ditta.
In the second incident, Nazrian Bibi wanted to go to her parents’ house, but her husband Habibullah, forbid her. On the day of the incident, they exchanged harsh words and Habibullah allegedly killed his wife in a fit of rage.
In the third incident, motorcyclist Muhammad Nawaz, a bank employee, of Chak 5/EB was hit by a speeding car near Jewan Shah locality. As a result, he suffered critical injuries and was rushed to hospital where he died. Arshad Ahmad sustained injuries when his rickshaw was hit by a van on Qaboola road. He was rushed to hospital.
FARMER INJURED: A farmer was inflicted injuries on Tuesday over an issue of irrigation water.
Accused Zulfiqar and his accomplices forcibly turned flow of irrigation water towards their fields from fields of Muhammad Khalid of Chak 123/EB when Khalid questioned them, they injured him critically.
DRUG PEDDLER HELD: Police Tuesday arrested drug peddler Abdul Sattar and recovered 155 gram Charas from his possession. The police also recovered a pistol from Muhammad Azam, of Sheikh Jamal locality.
ROADS CONSTRUCTION: District Officer (Planning) Muhammad Akram Wattoo Tuesday said the Punjab government would construct 56km roads with Rs 375.1 million in the district. Talking to reporters, Wattoo said six roads would be completed during this financial year and the approval for 40 roads would be forwarded to the relevant authorities.
LOADSHEDDING: Locals are upset owing to over 17 hours unscheduled power loadshedding in the city and its adjoining areas. They urged the relevant authorities to look into the matter.
