Landlord razes girls’ school for refusing job to his favourite

SUKKUR: An influential landlord bulldozed a girls’ primary school here on Saturday.Landlord Abdul Waheed Pahoor razed the Jhougal Girls’ Primary School in village Aribabad of Thul town of Jacobabad.
Rashid Mirani led the villagers’ protest which called for legal action against the landlord.Reports said the landlord had wanted education officials to post his favourite schoolteacher and on refusal demolished the school and took away the girders and bricks of the building.
Deputy Commissioner Jacobabad Shah Zaman Khohro said the material of the school building had been recovered and a probe ordered. Meanwhile, Sindh Education Minister Nisar Khuhro took notice of the incident and ordered director schools to register an FIR against the landlord. However, the FIR had not been registered till the filing of this report.
