PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Friday honoured the relatives of the Army Public School Peshawar’s martyrs with Tamgha-e-Shujaat in recognition of the bravery, courage and sacrifices of their loved ones.
In a ceremony held here at the Commissioner Office, the minister bestowed Tamgha-e-Shujaat (gallantry medals) upon bereaved families of APS victims — Abdul Rasheed Shaheed, Adil Ezaz Shaheed, Asif Ali Sardar Shaheed, Basit Ali Shaheed, Shahud Alam Shaheed, Hamza Ali Kakar Shaheed, Sehr Afshan Shaheed, Hafza Shaheed and Beenish Pervaiz Shaheed.
The minister saluted the patience and fortitude of the bereaved families. He said the sacrifices of the APS martyrs would not go waste and added that terrorists and extremists would be wiped out from the country.
He said the whole country in general and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular suffered huge losses in the war against terrorism. It may be mentioned here that terrorists attacked the APS on December 16, last year and massacred 144 school children and 10 staff members in one of the worst incidents of terror in the history of the world.
