PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday issued a contempt of court notice to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health secretary for non-compliance with court orders. A division bench comprising Justice Nisar Hussain Khan and Justice Irshad Qaiser issued the contempt of court notice filed by Dr Muhammad Tahir, principal, Public Health School Hayatabad.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer Babar Khan Yousafzai submitted that despite the court’s order that no adverse action would be taken against the petitioner till next orders, the Health Department had stopped his salary, which, he said, was contempt of court. He submitted that his client had been transferred four times in a short span due to political interference.
