LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that terrorists committed worst barbarity against innocent children and teachers in Peshawar but due to the sacrifices of the martyrs, the whole nation has united in the war on terrorism.
All citizens will have to play their role for eliminating terrorism and setting up a peaceful society.
He said the brutal elements playing with innocent lives would not be able to escape deterrent punishment and that collective decisions taken for eradication of terror were yielding positive results, which would help to win the war on terror.
Talking to a delegation of the PML-N office-bearers here Monday, the chief minister said the dream of progress and prosperity of the country could not be realised without the elimination of terror, extremism and sectarianism. He said peace was essential for promotion of investment and problems like poverty and unemployment could be resolved only through strengthening the process of investment and industrialisation in the country.
He said political sagacity, wisdom, bold leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the courageous decisions taken by the national leadership will eliminate terror from the country. He said national action plan was a joint and effective strategy to cope with terrorism, extremism and sectarianism.
He said the Punjab government was taking all necessary measures in the province under the national action plan and its full implementation was being ensured for eradicating terrorism.
