LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Lawyers Wing Punjab on Saturday unanimously adopted a resolution through which publication of blasphemous sketches about the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) was strongly condemned and the Pakistani government was urged to expel the French ambassador immediately.
According to a press release issued on Saturday, PML Lawyers Wing also said the French government and owners of the concerned magazine should apologise for hurting the sentiments of the Islamic world.
The PML Lawyers Wing Punjab’s meeting was held at the Muslim League House on Saturday under the chairmanship of Provincial President Alamgir advocate which also strongly condemned police torture of schoolchildren in Lahore.
The meeting offered “fateha” for the departed soul of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz.
The meeting was attended by a large number of lawyers including Jahangir A Jhoja, Ch Abdul Razzaq Kamboh, Israr Elahi Malik, Rafay Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Younis Abid, Barak Ullah Khan, Ehtesham Mirza, Mohammad Iqbal, Ishtiaq Gohar, Inayatullah Sira, Imran Sheerazi, Mujtaba Kazmi, Amir Saeed Raan, Mohammad Binyamin Khalil, Arshad Qureshi, Mohammad Waheed Zahid, M. Aqeel Chaudhry, Ch Mohammad Ali Babar, Azmat Zia, Nayyer Ahmad Anjum, Mohammad Khalid, Mohammad Nauman, Ilyas Jhummat and Shahid Daihar among others.
