Sindh CM gets special assistant from Makhdoom family

KARACHI: To facilitate Makhdoom family, brother in law of Makhdoom Jamil Zaman, Ali Hassan Hingoro has been made the special assistant to chief minister Sindh with the full status of provincial minister for Rehabilitation Department.
Sources of Sindh government told ‘The News’ that within coming some days portfolio of the Ministry of Makhdoom Jamil will be changed and responsibilities, an important department will be given to him.
Sources added that during the meeting of co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party Asif Zardari with Makhdoom Amin Faheem on January 4, it was decided to facilitate Makhdoom family more.
Earlier on December 18, a meeting of Makhdoom Amin Faheem with former president Pasrvez Mushraf along with Pir Pagara at Karachi created the impression of his differences with the PPP leadership and rumors of change of provincial Sindh government.
After these developments, PPP leadership decided to remove his reservations. Ali Hassan Hingoro, brother in law of Makhdoom Jamil, has become the fourteenth special assistant and fourth special assistant who has the full powers and status of a minister.
Sources close to Makhdoom Amin Fahim, however, denied that the appointment was result of some compromise, rather it was based on competence. Makhdoom had already denied reports about his differences with the party leadership.
Already, three special assistants – Sharmila Farooqi, Umer Rehman Malik and Zia Lanjar – are enjoying the full powers of Provincial Ministers for Culture, Social Welfare and Auqaf Department. Earlier, Makhdoom Jamil Zaman was the Minister for Rehabilitation and Relief. Now one department is being cut off to accommodate another family member of the Makhdoom family.
