SAMARRA: First-ever Pakistani Javed Hussain breathed his last, while defending the Shrine of Hazrat Imam Hassan Askari (AS), a sacred religious personality, against ISIS, an Iraqi branch of Al-Qaeda popular as Daish.

According to the information received from Samarra, Iraq, Javed Hussain was the first ever Pakistani who was killed after posing fierce resistance against the ISIS strike to hit the Shrine. Javed Hussain hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and was studying in Iraq. After when the decree was issued by the top Iraqi religious authority Ayatullah Ali Al-Sistani in which the cleric asked all Muslims in Iraq to raise to defend the religious sacred sites in Iraq, Hussain volunteered himself. He was assigned with a task to defend the Shrine of Hazrat Imam Hassan Askari (AS) during which he got killed in a fierce battle for the control of Shrine. Hundreds of Iraqis welcomed his coffin by reciting Darood and Kalma, when the dead body was brought back to Baghdad. They were also chanting slogans against the terrorist group reiterating their commitment to defend their motherland. It is pertinent to mention here that a large portion of Tikrit and Samarra has been freed from the ISIS control where their attacks have been heavily repulsed.
