9 officials among 11 booked for corruption

GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has registered cases against nine officials and two others on the charge of corruption.

 

Rai Muhammad Malik of Hafizabad, in a complaint, alleged that XEN Malik Iqbal, SDO Qaisar Ilyas and Sub-Engineer Mirza had used substandard material during the construction of Hafizabad-Sukheke Road. The ACE team found the officials guilty. Malik Khalid of Qila Chand stated that a government building was being constructed without the approved plan at the behest of Khiali TMO, TO and Building inspectors. He said that Inspector Umair Shah had sealed the site, but it was reopened. The ACE conducted an inquiry and found the officials guilty.

 

Nasir Ahmed of Narowal complained that DO Roads Shakil Riffat and Sub-Engineer Irfan Ahmed had allowed substandard material in the construction of five-kilometre road constructed at Rs 8 million. During an inquiry, the charges were proved true.
