SUKKUR: Three women were among five of a family killed and two injured on Monday in a road accident at Sakrand by-pass on Monday.


Police said a passenger coach heading for Karachi ran over a car at Sakrand by-pass while overtaking another vehicle. Police and rescuers rushed to the place of the incident and managed to recover five bodies and two injured from the heavily damaged car after hectic efforts of two hours.


The bodies and the injured were shifted to a local hospital, where the dead were identified as Altaf Memon, Amina, Rozina, Shabana and baby Umaima while one of the injured was identified as Danyal.


Police said the victim family was on the way to Moro from Hyderabad. The bodies were dispatched to their native place in ambulances. Sakrand police impounded the coach but its driver managed to escape.
