Karachi has turned into attractive destination for foreign investors: governor

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that Karachi has turned into an attractive destination for prospective foreign investors after the restoration of peace and making its environment ideal for doing business.

He stated this in a meeting the Kuwait Consul General in Karachi Mohammad Abdullah Al-Khaledi at the Sindh Governor House on Wednesday. Emad Mohammed Al-Ansari of Kuwait Petroleum was also present during the meeting.

The governor said that prospective businessmen from Kuwait should invest in different Karachi-based sectors of the economy as the present government would provide its full support and assistance in this regard.

He said that bilateral ties between Pakistan and Kuwait were based on mutual respect, and they were getting stronger with each passing day, adding that the services of the Kuwaiti diplomat for promoting ties between the two countries were praiseworthy.

Ismail said that the government gave value to all the efforts by Kuwaiti investors to invest in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh, to generate new employment opportunities for the country’s youth.

The diplomat informed the governor that it was the desire of Kuwait to see Pakistan’s economy flourishing and his country would provide utmost support for the purpose. The efforts of Pakistan for poverty alleviation and to end joblessness in the entire region were highly laudable.

He said that the Kuwaiti prospective investors considered Karachi as the economic hub of the country and they wanted to invest in the city to take full advantage of its capacity to host new businesses and industries. The meeting also took into consideration different aspects of bilateral trade and business between the two countries.
