HYDERABAD: Six unknown armed men riding two motorbikes started firing at the Karachi-bound Zakaria Express on Thursday, in which one boy was killed and seven other passengers were injured.

 

When the train coming from Multan reached Kotri station, its two bogies No. 2 and 6 were targeted with indiscriminate firing. A 12-year old boy identified as Shahbaz Latif was killed, while Mohammed Ali, Shahid, Abid Gujar, Manzoor Ali, Mahmood Ali, Tanveer Ahmed and one unknown were injured.

 

The injured were shifted to hospital. After the incident, Rangers and police force reached the spot and started a search operation. Later, the law enforcing agencies personnel besieged a house in the Jhaloo Muhalla in Kotri town from where the armed men opened fire. The LEA killed Afzal Panhwar while two others were arrested.
