Lahore on top in Railways athletics event
ISLAMABAD: Lahore Division with 119 points were leading on the board on the opening day of the 64th Pakistan Railways Athletics Championship at the Railways Stadium, Ghari Shahu, Friday.
Multan (86) and Karachi (38) were enjoying second and third positions respectively.
Pakistan Railway Board secretary Sikandar Sultan Raja inaugurated the championship amid a graceful march past displayed by over 400 participating men and women athletes from all nine divisions of Pakistan Railways Sports Board — Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Workshops, Multan, Sukkur, Quetta and Karachi.
Railway Sports Board President Shahid Aziz, Vice President Dr Aftab Iqbal Chaudhry, secretary Anjum Shahzad, IG Pakistan Railways Police Wajid Zia and sports officer Tariq Mahmood were also present on the occasion.
