LAHORE: Raja Riaz, former leader of Opposition of Punjab Assembly, said on Tuesday that the PML-N had proved itself as the political wing of the terrorist and extremist organizations beyond any shadow of doubt.

In a statement issued here, Raja Riaz said the PML-N had awarded party tickets to known figures having affiliations with religious extremist organizations. Chaudhry Abid Raza from NA-107 Gujrat and Ebad Dogar from NA-178 Muzaffargarh, PML (N) candidates both are suspected of their links with the religious terrorist organizations, he said.

He recalled that Ebad Dogar had announced Rs. 20 million bounty for the assassination of the late Salman Taseer for his support to the convict of blasphemy, Asia Bibi, for whom the ex-governor said that he would try her conviction was pardoned by the President. He was arrested on suspicion of murder of Salman Taseer but was acquitted by the court.

He said that Sharifs brothers were losing ground among the people with every passing day as their credentials as believer in democracy were becoming increasingly doubtful due to their soft corner for the terrorists who also reciprocated by allowing them a free field during the election campaign while denying the same to the moderate and democratic parties.

The impression was further reinforced by the fact that Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif had not condemned the cold-blooded murders of the PPP, MQM and ANP candidates and workers. Nawaz Sharif had not condoled with the bereaved families as yet, he added.
