LAHORE: Former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said that the transparency reflected in the uplift projects carried out by the PML-N’s government in Punjab would also be visible in the party’s media policy.

“The PML-N is the first political party that has invited the media to come and report on its process of awarding tickets to candidates,” Shahbaz said while addressing office-bearers of the PML-N Media Cell.

He advised the party workers to practice accuracy and fairness while forwarding the PML-N’s message to people. He said the PML-N’s popularity was aboveboard.

“Overall, the role of journalists for peace and fair elections has been positive. However, some pen mercenaries are targeting the country’s most popular party through mudslinging and their baseless propaganda,” the former CM said.
