Police arrest three influential alleged rapists

ISLAMABAD: A girl hailing from Lahore was gang-raped by three influential persons, including an officer of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and a top industrialist, in a five-star hotel, police said on Tuesday.

The educated 20-year-old girl lodged a complaint with the Secretariat Police Station that two persons -- Mohammad Rashid and Badarud Din -- and a woman brought her from Lahore to provide her a lucrative job in a semi-government organisation.

“They are influential personalities and have links in power corridors. They got booked two rooms -- one for ladies and the other for themselves -- in the five-star hotel. By midnight, the unknown woman left the room and the men entered the room and raped me,” the girl added. The girl earns a living by teaching students. The police registered a case and arrested all the accused.

A top police officer confirmed the report and said the girl was brought to Islamabad from Lahore by Bakhtiawar for a job. “Three persons -- Rashid, Fazal and Badar Baloch -- allegedly raped the girl,” the officer said, adding Rashid was an industrialist and Badar an assistant director in the FIA Karachi.
