Fatyana, 8 guards not produced due to lawyers’ strike

 

217 booked for torching police vans in Kamalia

TOBA TEK SINGH: The Kamalia police have registered a case against 217 people on the charge of torching police vans and public property.

 

MNA Riaz Fatyana was brought to Toba after his arrest on Tuesday night. Later, he was shifted to the Rajana police station. On Wednesday morning, he was shifted to the Kamalia City police station.

 

Meanwhile, a complete strike was observed in Kamalia against the death of a 14-year-old boy and injuries to over 50 people during protest against loadshedding. Lawyers also observed a strike in Kamalia and Toba. Owing to the lawyers’ strike, MNA Riaz Fatyana and his eight guards could not be produced in the court of a magistrate for their remand.

 

OKARA: The Gogera police have registered a case against 150 people for setting on fire the Wapda Ravi Sub-Division office.

 

The protesters mainly from Youngpur to Mari Pattan had taken out a rally against severe loadshedding of electricity. Later, they ransacked the Wapda office. The Okara Sadr police have registered a case against 150 people, including 22 nominated ones, on the report of District Complex SDO Samiullah. The case has been registered under sections 452, 427, 148, 149 of the PPC and 16-MPO.
