SUKKUR: An International Literacy Conference will be arranged on the 760th Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar at Sehwan Sharif by the Sindh Culture Department in collaboration with District Administration, Jamshoro. This was decided on Wednesday in the meeting held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Jamshoro, where arrangements for the Urs were reviewed.
Chairman Shahbaz Mela Committee and DC Agha Sohail Pathan; DG Culture Sindh, Rafiq Ahmad Buriro; Director Culture Muhammad Ali Manjhi; Director Sindh Museum, Hyderabad, Muhammad Ayub Jamali; Additional DC I & II Saleem Baloch; Salik Mirza; AC Sehwan Syed Ataullah Shah; PSO to IG Police Muhammad Yunus Chandio; EDO Education Allah Bachayo Khaskheli; District Information Officer, Ghulam Rasool Qambrani and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
It was decided that scholars, writers and poets would be invited to the Literacy Conference. They will read papers on the massage of Shahbaz Qalandar and his services. The meeting was informed that musical show, agro, industrial and cultural exhibition, traditional Sindhi game Malakhra and other programmes would be arranged during the three-day Urs.
A memorial souvenir would also be published on the occasion. The DC and DG Culture decided that the district administration and the culture department would coordinate to ensure that the Urs was held in a befitting manner.
The DC informed that arrangements for security, traffic and parking system, drinking water, health, etc were being finalised to facilitate the devotees.
