BANNU: A superintendent of police sustained injuries in a roadside blast near Sairu Badakhel on the Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan Road on Friday, sources said. The sources said that the Superintendent of Police (SP), Investigation, Raqiaz Khan, was on his way home from the office when an improvised explosive device planted by unidentified persons on the roadside in Sairu Badakhel village went off. SP Raqiaz Khan sustained minor injury in his hand. Following the incident, the police cordoned off the area to collect pieces of evidence. The Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan Road remained closed for some time after the incident.
