NEW DELHI: Chairman of Ansar Burney Trust International, Ansar Burney, met with Pakistani national Prof Dr Khalil Chishty who was recently released by the Indian Supreme Court from the Ajmer prison on bail and informed him that a fresh appeal had been filed in the Indian apex court for taking him to Pakistan.

Ansar Burney said that the fresh appeal in the Supreme Court of India was filed with a humble request to allow Dr Chishty to go back home to meet his wife and children in Pakistan on humanitarian grounds in the greater interest of justice, says a press release. Burney said right now the court had only granted bail to Chishty and he is not in a legal position to travel to Pakistan, so it is necessary to file a fresh appeal.
