Gen Raheel meets Turkish president, PM

Offers support in handling security challenges

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has assured the Turkish leadership of support in handling their security challenges.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa stated on the social media that the army chief, who is on a visit to Turkey, called on Turkish President Teyyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu separately.
Both the leaders appreciated Pakistan’s role for regional peace and the Pakistan Army’s contributions in defeating terrorism. The Turkish leadership emphasised the importance of fraternal ties between the two brotherly nations.
The COAS also called on the Turkish defence minister and chief of the general staff separately and expressed satisfaction on defence cooperation.Both sides vowed to enhance defence collaboration.
