SHIKARPUR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan, said on Thursday that palaces were being bought from corruption money in Sindh.
He said that corruption was the biggest issue of Sindh and the people of the province wanted to see a change.
Addressing workers and supporters in Shikarpur on Thursday evening, Imran said that Sindh was being looted through corruption and palaces were being bought in Dubai.
He went on to say: “If the real devolution of power happens in Sindh, it will empower the people and bring a change in the lives of the poor.
“Funds are not transferred to the grassroots level in the province and looting and plundering is happening at the top level.”
He further said, “We stand with the suffering farmers of Sindh and I will fight for their rights.”
The PTI chief said that this year Allah had saved the province from floods but the provincial government had no plans to prevent the flood losses.
He added: “I allow the Rangers to nab the corrupt elements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa too if they find any.”
He said: “The purpose of this visit is to prepare for the local bodies elections and Inshallah we will create history here.”
To a question, he said Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza Khan had assured him that the Election Commission would address the PTI’s concerns.
He said the PTI had discussed with him over 40 JC’s findings. “We want the by-elections to be conducted under neutral umpires,” he said. Imran said that on October 4 there would be a massive rally in Islamabad.
He vowed to transfer powers to the local people of small towns and villages through the local government elections. He said that Rs900 billion development fund for Sindh was being shifted to foreign banks by the ruling party legislators and ministers. He said no penny was being utilised on the welfare and development of the people of Sindh.
The PTI chief said the PML-N government was a product of election rigging and it stands on the pillars of rigging. He said the Election Commission was behind their victory.
